That said, how much wind i'll tolerate depends on how I'm planning to fish. If I know they are on a moving bait bite, I'll put up with a lot more wind. It's a whole lot easier to effectively fish a crankbait or a chatterbait in the wind than it is a weightless senko.

So I say as long as you can fish effectively, embrace the wind. Just make sure you know when to leave. I've left e'm biting many of times because the conditions just got unsafe.

I agree!

This is what I use as well - pretty accurate.

Saturday it blew hard at Bridgeport in the afternoon. We caught them good as long as we fished the windy side. We tried to fish out of the wind and were just not getting bit. Wind is good if you can safely deal with it. Had the trolling motor on 90 a couple of times when a good gust would hit. I fish a little heavier bait or a moving bait so I can still feel it, and try to keep my casts low and it seems to work out.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Over 20 is my limit. 5-10ssw pretty good for me, here is a site I use that's usually accurate.

Wind is your friend. Use it to your advantage as long as you can. Sometimes it's to rough to fish in but you can search out wind breaks with current coming around where you can fish in the wind but your boat isn't in it to much. Fishing out of the wind hasn't really ever produced for me

We had our club tournament this past weekend. Forecast was for 20-25 mph winds.

Knew it would be tough fishing so plan was to fish weightless sinkos before wind picked up and just put 3 fish in the boat.

Never got a bite before wind picked up.

On 5th spot i fished i had a never ending supply of 2-3 lb fish with an occasional 3+.

After I caught my 3rd fish over 3 i picked up.

Bounced around and 9th spot of the day produced countless 3-4 lb fish and 4 fish over 4 lbs.

Had 25 mph winds, fished roughest spot on lake, and had one of best days ive ever had on water.

Best part is i caught all my fish with trolling motor on spot lock sitt8ng in back seat with feet propped up on motor.

Most relaxing day of fishing ive had in a while.

Won 1st place and big fish. Had there been no tournament I probably wouldnt have fished due to the forecast.
