A friend recently visited the Nolan River recently to fish for Sand Bass. He was unfamiliar with fishing for them.

Which lures (or bait) would you suggest to use for Nolan River Sand Bass?

I've never fished this river either so I couldn't help him.

Can't go wrong with curly tail crappie jigs.

+1

My most basic sandbass fishing rig for shoreline fishing is a small white crappie jig under a bobber. Cast out, let the jig settle, then bring it in a couple feet, let the jig drop, etc.

I agree crappie jigs work great for a casting and retrieving. I love 1/8 to 1/4 ounce roadrunner jig heads with a go go minnow or slabalicious swim bait by mr crappie. Lately I’ve been just using roadrunner buck tail jigs that you can purchase from academy and been pleased

Rooster tails, slab spoons, chrome rattle traps are what I use.
