I have a 125 mercury outboard. This morning the motor died when I went to start it i found the starter turning with the key off. When I turned the key on the motor fired right up. Turn the key off motor stop but starter did not stop turning. Every thing works right but I have to disconnect the battery stop the starter. Did not have time to heck anything yet. Could this be a shorted key switch?

I have not look that close to the starter before but I thought there was only two wires going to it. A 12v hot and a neutral. The key works normal. Thought it was a solenoid hung closed at first but the key will turn the motor off.
