How do you rig your Buzzbait?
Single tail or double tail trailer and skirt?
Skirt and no trailer?
Remove skirt and use a swim bait?
Best color?
What kind of line and size do you use?
Prepare for the future-it will be here tomorrow. Personal Best Large Mouth Bass 9 lbs. 12 oz 5/13/19. Herb Stein, who famously reminded us that โif something canโt go on forever, it will stop.โ

Always a skirt and trailer, typically a small double tail, but i will run a small swim bait trailer as well. I've never fished one with just a swim bait, been wanting to try it though.
12-15# Co-polymer

skirt and trailer hook.
white and chartreuse or black.
14 or 17 lb. mono.
(my favorite is a lunker lure 1/4 oz., copper blade)

Sometimes I use a trailer hook, sometimes I do not. Depends on the fish, if they are short striking it or not. I use a skirt about 100% of the time (only a couple of time no skirt and bigger swimbait). Let the fish tell you what they want. If they are busting and you are not getting strikes, change something, bending the blades to sound different is a GREAT way to change the sound of it. I normally use a single/twin tail trailer, depends on what the fish want. If they are striking your bait, but not hooking up, THAT is the time to change something, again, bending the wires to the blades is easy to do, but it does not work 100% of the time, sometimes you have to add or subtract something, like taking some strands out of the skirt, works great sometimes, not others. Gives it a smaller profile coming thru the water. I like white, chartreuse/blue and blue buzzbaits. In open water, I throw them on 12-15# test, if throwing them in the stumps, I move up to 20 or 25 lb test. I use McCoys Mean Green co-polymer. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

My Baby Doll Buzz is very compact for throwing longer distances. The Blade is designed to tick the flat lead head for a unique sound like no other can match. The wire is a short arm with the twisted line tie for exceptional strength in heavy cover. The hook is extended and with the blades stopping at the head of the bait, this gives plenty of extended hook area to eliminate the trailer hook.
For a trailer I like the Zoom UltraVibe Speed Worm, cut to the length needed. This is a larger version of the leg of a Horny Toad.
