I have a friend who is looking at new boats. I also have a Skeeter that I would highly recommend, but the prices of the 20 and 21 ft Tritons are way below the standard prices of the other big three.
My question is, are the problems with the gel coats, corrected, and they do now offer a 100% reliable boat?
One of the big local dealers who carried Tritons, now says they can't sell them. Maybe its the BPS sale.
I know fishermen sometimes follow the herd, but a deal is a deal. It's still a good looking rig. What is you'lls take on the new Tritons.
Thx in advance.

They are good boats, and they stood by their product. They are marketed more in the southeast. There are scant few dealers. I would wager if they had a sufficient dealer network in North Texas sales would increase somewhat. They just won’t beat the reigning monarchs of Texas (Skeeter & Ranger).

Triton is certainly a good bang for your buck. I'm on my second one and I prefer their ride over several other brands.

I've had 6 new 21ft Tritons over the last 8years and never an issue of any kind, fixing to get rid of the 22trx I'm in and order another one.

Do you think that Triton is going the way of Legend and Stratos? Seems like those brands are phasing out and maybe people are leery of buying them?

I'm on my third. This one being a 20 TRX. It has been flawless other than a latch and compartment drain the factory forgot. Best thing is in two seasons I have collected $14000 in Triton Gold.

I recently bought a used Triton 2006 model. sold my Skeeter. I wish I had done it a long time ago.
the TR21X is an absolute beast of a fishing platform. Pair it with th right motor and the hole shot and ride are second to none
My 2006 has been fished a bunch. Original carpet, seats are still in GREAT shape and the del coat is perfect.
I get compliments on it all the time.

Tritons are still among the best boats on the water. They are now being built in the Legend factory. Build quality is better than ever. I would not hesitate to buy one at all.

triton will be around a long time the difference between triton an some of the other smaller brands that don't build the big number of boats was not quality or market share they were losing sales because they were not able to produce the product fast enough that is why they purchased the legend factory an a up an running work force.

Triton is not a smaller brand. At one time, when Earl Bentz owned Triton, they were the largest bass boat manufacturer by numbers in the USA.
The problem they had, which they stood behind, had more to do with the Ranger group messing with the tried and proven building process they had been using.
Triton did not buy Legend. Johnny Morris did. If Triton goes the way of Champion, Stratos, and Legend, it will be because Morris wants it that way.
Don't think it can't happen to Basscat and Phoenix too.

I have ridden in just about every boat built. Triton is just as solid as any and more than most. If you take a test drive in one make sure its blowing at least 15 to 20 and you will be very surprised how well it handles it. The 22 ft Tritons are a beast !

Triton's are very well made and ride nice. My Friend's 2001 TR-21 is still holding up good and rides great.

I bought my 2004 TR21X new and just replaced carpet and seats. Great rough water boat and stable fishing platform.
