Crappie fishing with an ultralite rig is a lot of fun.

Which rod/reel setup is your preferred one?

What is your preferred bait/lure on an ultralite rig?

try a shakespeare tiny deadbolt on a ultralight berkley cherrywood.( around a 40.0 rig), 2 to 4 pound P line,or berkley trilene XL , fish a 32/nd oz jig under a small balsa wood eagle claw bobber.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

My favorite ultralight rod is a custom made 4'10" Waterloo rod with a Shimano Sienna 500 spooled with 4lb mono. Weighs nothing and will even sling 14"ers in the boat.

I dont fish them, but I got a buddy that loves the high end Diawa rods/reels and he can spank my arse with that setup, when we get under the bridges, or on the the deep water BPs. Dont know any specifics and he is out of country currently, so I would just suggestion you look at the various options...

I like the little berkley cherrywood rods. Shimano open face reel, I think it is a 10X. Really small & light.

I use 20lb braid, no line problems with a little bigger line.

I picked up an old 9 foot, #3 weight fly rod for a few bucks. Man that's a great set-up!

Cheers, cheers
