Anyone ever put a dab of glue on their snell knots? I've had a knot or two to loosen on my circle hooks, and am wondering if it would be a good idea to glue them. I try to snug my line down when I tie knots, but seems like it doesn't always work.

Where is the snell coming loose? Do you happen to have a photo of one in that state?

I tie leaders about once a month at around fifty at a time. Store them wrapped around a pvc pipe. The snell may get a little loose but once you have it on a pole it tightens right up. Have never had a simple snell come apart.

I tie my snells with an additional step that locks the knot in place. Will try to find a good video so you can see in detail.

Maybe leave your tag end a little longer. This may help if your knot slips a little it does'nt slip free.

My knot didn't fail while fighting a fish, but as the result of trying to get unsnagged. I'm thinking this might not be anything to worry about since any knot is weaker than the line. (Correct me if I'm wrong). Had I been fighting a fish, the drag would have slipped before the knot failed.

Make sure you're feeding the tag end of the line through the eye of the hook from the inside to outside when starting, then the leader end from outside to inside to complete. Hard to see he is doing that in the video you posted. Here is a clearer video that shows that.

Ok, here's an example of how I learned to tie snell knots. Watch from about 0:40 to 1:20

I've never had a snelled knot tied this way fail on me. The leader may break, but the knots stay tight.
