I’ve posted in partner finder section, but not sure how often it is viewed. Always owned a boat and never had problem finding partners for tournaments/pre-fishing, etc. Now that I don’t currently have a boat, it seems impossible to find. Watching DVR of older tournaments (Champs/TTT) and realizing how much I miss it. Nothing like waiting for your turn to launch and getting that rush of adrenaline that today’s your day even if it turns out not to be. Signed up for a couple of club tournaments as non-boater, but had trouble finding an open seat as most people were already partnered. Will probably fish Century BC as it is draw, but would like to find someone competitive and reliable to fish with. My wife wants me out of the house more Billy

Give Ray Hubbard a look since you are in Rockwall. They try to pair up people, if you go to the first meeting of the year (January), you have a month to get paired up before the first tournament. Yes, most people bring their own partner, but you may get lucky! McKinney is a little further north, but we are growing some. We are mostly paired up, but I am potentially in the market for someone to fish BOTH clubs for the rest of the year. Biggest thing, it is about finding someone that doesn’t annoy the fire out of you or vice-versa. 9+ hours a day is a long time to be in close quarters with someone!

Yeah, I was building a house so didn’t get to start as early as I liked with RHBC. Went to couple of meetings, but most had already partnered up so didn’t get a seat. I have no problem driving to fish.
I know what you mean. I like to believe I’m competitive, but fun. Luckily, I’ve had good partners in the past and having spent 20 years in the military living in tents in Middle East with guys from 18 years old to 50, I can get along with just about anyone. Talk about close quarters.

Used to fish ABA when stationed in Wichita Falls. Looked at local ABA website today and had only 5 anglers at last tournament. Surprised by that.

It's really hard to find that person that you can get along with, think similarly OTW, have conflict with in a constructive manner, complement your fishing strengths for positive outcome, personalities click for enjoyment, etc.......guess that's why I'm not in tourneys, anymore. Out of my fishing tourneys for 30 years, I only found two. Maybe I really am a DB!

Tackle shop, back before BPS, Cabela's, Academy and Walmart.
I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed. Conscience never acquits, it either accuses or excuses.

I can't imagine just randomly looking for a tourney partner because that is a long term deal to me. Draw tourneys or boater/co-angler is one thing because its just for those 1-3 days and there's been plenty of horror stories from those. I found mine via my brother in law. It was a guy he worked with and it was before I had a boat but wanted to start fishing tournaments. We've been fishing together ever since and despite me being on my 3rd boat, we still fish every event out of his with the same deal. I pay for all tourney entries and we split the winnings but he provides boat, gas, etc.

For RHBC, yes the earlier you get in and we try and get you paired up the better. Our Club has been around a long time and most of our guys have established partners, so unless you come in with a partner, it's usually a change in someone's status (example partner moved, got married etc). Normally the guys let me know they are looking for a partner early in the year. We do what we can to make a team for the year. Otherwise, it tends to be a one off deal. As for ABA Billy, I fish the Opens as a Co. They normally have 60-70 boaters and 50-60 Co's per tournament. Check them out here. I fish in the East Texas division http://www.abaopenseries.com/
