It was a guy he worked with and it was before I had a boat but wanted to start fishing tournaments. We've been fishing together ever since and despite me being on my 3rd boat, we still fish every event out of his with the same deal. I pay for all tourney entries and we split the winnings but he provides boat, gas, etc.

You have to start somewhere, although it's pretty difficult. I'm kind of at a loss. Not saying the first person that responds we will be life long partners, but just throwing it out there in case anyone else is looking as well.

My partner for the last few years and I have been friends for 25 years. We started fishing tournaments over 20 years ago, then he got out of fishing for 15 years. Our success rate goes up and down, but we always have fun.

I wouldn't want to start fishing with someone I don't know just because he is a good stick.

I was at the boat ramp one day trying out some new baits that I bought. A new technique called a shakey head. A guy that I have seen and spoken with a couple of times while crappie fishing at the crappie house was launching a small bass buster boat. We started talking a little and he said I was more than welcome to join him for a couple of hours. Went out caught a lot of fish that day, and now we've been fishing together for almost 20 years.

Having been in the military for 20 years before, I moved quite a bit. I had good partners at each location, but didn't have that one person I always fished with for years and years that most people do because of that. I'm not looking for someone that's just good and we don't get along. I want to have fun and be competitive as well. I've only lived where I'm at now for 1 year so I don't have that history that a lot of you have.

Was kind of hoping for that myself, but I was blessed with 4 daughters. Tried to get them interested, but they weren't about spending hours upon hours in the weather and boredom at times. They were more about dance and cheerleading. I would take them fun fishing and they would get bored after about an hour. I would let them jump in and swim while I used the TM and fished a few spots. Always went back and got them though smile

Watching DVR of older tournaments (Champs/TTT) and realizing how much I miss it. Nothing like waiting for your turn to launch and getting that rush of adrenaline that today’s your day even if it turns out not to be. Signed up for a couple of club tournaments as non-boater, but had trouble finding an open seat as most people were already partnered. Will probably fish Century BC as it is draw, but would like to find someone competitive and reliable to fish with. My wife wants me out of the house more OMG

I worked with my last one. The funny thing is that we grew up maybe 30 minutes from each other in Tennessee. It's funny who you run into in the military. He retired recently so I've been taking the kids a bit more. Sometimes it feels more like I'm dragging them though. I guess I need to find a new buddy.

I had a good one then he got divorced so hes sitting up in a trailer in Odessa trying to dig his way out of debt. I asked a guy who fishes solo if I could join him, we jsut fished our 3rd together. 1st tourney I told him I would back it down and got in his truck, Christian spoken word radio. I was cool with that as all my tourneys start with a morning prayer. We fish well together and he is real easy going that is real important.
