Springtime fishing for the most part has been "GREAT"! Plenty of nice Bluegill,Redear,Hybrid Sunfish,Longear,Rios,Channel Cat's, and some nice bass have been caught in good numbers. Rounding out the catch were a couple of carp. Sunfish spawn is still on going and I am still seeing plenty of nest occupied. Rios are still looking for a mate. I have seen a few Rios on nest. Creeks and River lakes are producing good numbers of nice fish. Fish are being caught on the river lakes in 3 to 6 feet of water holding by docks. Fish on the creeks are hanging by brush piles close to the banks, and by grass beds. Worms with ultralight tackle were used. The Carp was caught on corn. Here are some of the catches that were made so far this spring. Myself, Rick-Catyakker,Clayton-Wildman of the Navidad, and Steve have had a pretty good year so far. Water bodies are in good shape but could always use a couple of "GOOD" soakings. Springtime Slabbing. It just don't get any better! fish

Nice fish Chuck and Steve! Good job. Looks like it's going to be a LONG HOT SUMMER! What is you take on the upcoming summer sunfish bite? What water bodies will you be fishing most?

Thanks Gitter for the reply. cheers Winter and Spring have been GREAT with lots of big fish staying active. dance2 Summer should be good as well. The bigger fish will be less active during the heat of the day. flame Very early morning fishing will be the plan. hmmm I also plan on hitting the smaller rivers a lot during the summer months as well as the creeks. hooked

I know exactly what you are saying. This past month it seems the bite shuts down between 10:30am and 11am. Day break till then the bite is good. I also figured you would be fishing the rivers more the second half of the year! woot

Side Note: Did my first night trip of the year this past week. Bite was great. Fished under some portable lights! Posted the report!
