Just aquired a 2001 Triton TR186 and it has a Lowrance X48 in the console. I would like to get a replacement does anyone know of a depth finder that will fit directly in the hole?

Well, I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'd imagine about the only thing that would fit, without modifying the existing hole, would be another X48. If you know the amount of room a available, you can look on Lowrances site and see what they have that could be made to fit. Keep in mind not only height and width, but also depth behind the panel. If you have a router and a flush trim bit, you likely could take your time making a perfect cutout on a piece of MDF and then, using the router and flush cut bit, transfer this perfect cutout to the dash panel.

You can find installation templates on-line at www.lowrance.com. From the home page go to SUPPORT and then to INSTALLATION MANUALS. Just pick one of the products and one of your options will be templates showing you size of new product.
