I flew Spirit once. Never again.

Spirit is such a scam. By the time they've finished adding all the extra fees at the counter it'll be a $500 ticket. $55 carry on fee, and $50 checked bag fee. Each direction. Unless you don't plan on taking any clothes to Cabo... then your golden. Printing your boarding pass is $10 if you forget to do it at home. And on the plane a bottle of water is $3, Beer is $7, and cocktails are $10. Wouldn't shock me if they've added pay toilets.

Up in first class we refer to this as "steerage" customers. Please refrain from breathing our air while passing through our cabin.

I fly Spirit to see my buddy in MN. It's normally $200-300 cheaper than anyone else. But I pack all I need into a backpack and there is no fee to carry that on the plane. I bring my own drink and snack. I know what I'm getting into and easily avoid their extra fees. If you are going for a short trip it's easy to do.

Spirit is okay in the right circumstances. Problem is they have a horrible record for lost luggage and delays. If you don't care about when you get to your destination or get home from your trip and can pack everything into a single carry on, go for Spirit.

OK. I will just release some air when passing through your cabin. As awful as it sounds, I am pretty sure that the Basic Economy experience will be opulent compared with my trip on Spirit.
