2020 mission to Mars. NASA to try and fly a helicopter drone on Mars. Here, you can only fly so high up due to the thin air in a helicopter. How is it going to work on Mars with no atmosphere. They say that the blades will have to spin 10 times faster than on earth. Should be pretty neat to watch and the pictures will be incredible.

Mars does have an atmosphere. The Martian atmosphere contains about 95.3% carbon dioxide (CO2) and 2.7% nitrogen, with the remainder a mixture of other gases. However, it is a very thin atmosphere, roughly 100 times less dense than Earth's atmosphere.

yeah what he said. I've always heard the nice round number of 1%. The Martian atmosphere is about 1% of the density of Earth's.
