I hope this isn't too off topic but I remember back in middle school a couple of friends of mine and I bought 6 large inner tubes and lashed them together and we had a pretty neat raft, Anyone try this before besides me? I know that this could potentially hazardous considering I'm going to be trying to fish from this thing.Ive pretty much had my fill of bank fishing. Thoughts or suggestions?

I'd just go ahead and get a fishing tube. Less hassle.

How will the raft be propelled and steered? Unless it is a river, where you can float down the Deep spots and walk on the shallow spots ? How will you sit comfortably for hours, like you do on the bank? How or where will all of your gear be stored? If it is a budget thing, used fishing tubes are sometimes given away or sold cheap.

roflmao I made one when I was 16 out of a tractor tube and a 4x4 piece of plywood strapped together. I put it in White rock lake. It was very hard to control with a paddle. I had been on the water for less then 15 minutes before a game warden stopped by and told me to get that piece of ---- of the lake and don't bring it back. He informed me that I could have received several tickets. Just mtc.

Made one with 4 inner tubes and drifted out quite a ways into the ocean with a couple buddies to dive. It wasn't too stable, and I highly doubt you could fish off of it comfortably. Was fun though!

Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...
