The last 3 nights of flounder gigging have been very good, even with gusty winds and poor tide movement. Water clarity has been good, but the larger flounder are still coming from areas with dirty water. Tide levels have been on a steady increase over the last 3 nights, making the fish change patterns each night. Gigging should remain excellent through the rest of Summer. Time to get a trip booked before its too late!

I had new customer Wade P. group of 5 onboard tonight. Conditions were marginal, with SE winds at 15mph and low tide levels. We got off to a slow start, with only 3 fish in the boat by 10pm. After making several moves, we got on some fast action on hard sandbars far from shore. We ended with a 25 flounder limit plus 6 sheepshead by midnight.

I had the Dale K. group of 5 onboard tonight, including 5 year-old Houston, who did an awesome job gigging. Conditions were poor, with SE wind at 15-25mph and normal tide levels. We got off to a good start, with 9 flounder by 10pm. Most of the fish tonight were holding on mud/grass bottom 10-20 yards off the shore. We ended with a 25 flounder limit plus 5 sheepshead by 11:30pm. The fish were larger tonight, with the best two fish at 21". (5 year old Houston was asleep in the truck, and not in the photo.)

I had long-time customer James G. group of 4 onboard tonight. Conditions were marginal, with SE wind at 15-20mph and slightly high tide levels. We got off to a very fast start, gigging 10 fish in the first 45 minutes over soft mud and grass bottom in the back lakes. After that, the action slowed way down, and we had to make several moves. We located the last of our fish holding shallow on hard oyster bottom. We ended with a 20 flounder limit plus 1 black drum by 11:30pm. The fish tonight were big, with the largest at 22", and most in the 17-20" range.

Upcoming open dates:
May: 20, 22, 23
June: 5, 12-14, 18, 19, 26-28
July: 1, 3, 6-13, 15-18, 22-24, 26-28, 30, 31

I also do "late trips" if I finish quickly with my first group. Late trips usually leave the dock 10pm-1am. Please call for availability. This is the best way to get a trip on short notice when I am already booked.

Price: $450 for 2 people, $100 each additional person, up to 6 people
