I think we all love flipping - getting that thump in the brush, but it is often times not the most efficient way to catch a limit. When you are patterning fish, in a tournament or otherwise, when do you decide that running way up to a creek with that flooded stuff is the technique you have to implement? What signs are you looking for that force you to abandon all other presentations? TIA.

If you can't find em wind em.

Anytime I think they are pulled up tight to cover, out comes the Flipping stick
If I have a limit and looking to upgrade, out comes the Jigs and the Flipping Stick
If I see Brush or Grass that just Looks Good, out comes the Flipping Stick
There might be a Pattern here, I just LOVE the Thump fish

I'll add....

When I'm rigging the boat for launch.....out comes the flipping stick.

I usually flip when a wake boat goes by with its ballasts full.
