Since I'm planning to fish the Lewisville white bass tournament, I decided to go get familiar with the lake yesterday (never been there). It was supposed to be winds 10 to 16 mph, but it turned out to be 20 to 25 mph. I took fishing buddy Ed D with me and tried out a few structures we saw on the lake topo map. The high winds restricted where we could fish, so it was a disappointing trip from that standpoint. After an hour of searching, we found fish on a couple of structures and caught 101 whites, 2 legal and 1 short hybrids. We hit the lake at 9AM and had these by 12:15PM. Then, still catching fish, we left to go check out more structures. Spent 3 more hours looking and fighting the wind but only found fish in one more place. We caught 14 more there before the trolling motor battery gave out fighting the high winds.

We caught our fish on silver and white #4 Mepps spinners. Hope to get back one more time before the tournament.

Guess I'll need to invest in more Mepps before the 26th! Then we might have a chance to compete against Dennis.

Gonna be tough fishing memorial weekend.

Lewisville is a Great Lake to fish for hybrids and sandbass. Not as good as tawakoni but conveniently right in the metroplex.

We should be good. The tournament will be ending about the time the crazies are getting their jet boats out.

Awesome, leaving a 100 fish spot. What depth were you finding them? At Buchanan (near Austin) last weekend, we had them at 50+ feet. I couldn't believe it.
