Lots of fun and smiles all around with the Mark and Elton Hudson group of 6 onboard tonight. Conditions were marginal, with SSE wind at 15-20mph and low tide levels. Water clarity was poor tonight, with warm silty water flowing off the flats on the slow outgoing tide, stirred up further by gusty winds. We got off to a slow start, gigging 4 fish in the first hour. After making a couple moves, we located some better action, with soft mud and grass bottom being the ticket. Nothing came easy tonight, and we had to grind in some tough areas, getting the boat stuck constantly. Flounder were scattered, but when we did find them, they were in tight groups of 2-4 fish, making the numbers add up quickly. We ended with a 30 flounder limit, plus 3 black drum and 1 sheepshead. The flounder were solid tonight, with the smallest at 15", largest at 19", and most in the 17-19" range.

Upcoming open dates:
May: 9, 13, 17, 20, 22, 23
June: 5, 12-14, 18, 19, 21, 26-28
July: 1, 3, 6-13, 15-18, 22-24, 26-28, 30, 31

I also do "late trips" if I finish quickly with my first group. Late trips usually leave the dock 10pm-1am. Please call for availability. This is the best way to get a trip on short notice when I am already booked.

Price: $450 for 2 people, $100 each additional person, up to 6 people

I had the Lorrie R. group of 2 onboard tonight. Conditions were poor, with SE winds at 15-25mph and low tide levels. Water clarity was better tonight, but the fish were more difficult to locate. We got off to a slow start, gigging only 3 flounder in the first 1.5 hours. After making a move, we found some scattered groups of fish holding far from shore in deep choppy water. We ended with a 10 flounder limit plus 5 black drum and 4 sheepshead. When filleting one of the flounder, an 8" freshly eaten speckled trout popped out of the stomach. Hungry fish!

Upcoming open dates:

June: 5, 12-14, 18, 19, 26-28
July: 1, 3, 6-13, 15-18, 22-24, 26-28, 30, 31
