Was able to fish on two of three days off this week. Fishing was great both days. Fished Lake Mcqueeney and Lake Dunlap on Thursday after the front blew through. Picked up a bunch of nice Bluegill,Redbreast and a couple of nice bass. Fish on Mcqueeney were located in the main lake by canal entrances. Fish were in 6 to 8 feet of water. Fish were also on the west side of the Treasure Island bridge holding close to the bank. Fish were also found in 9 feet of water. White Rooster Tail Lure was used with great results. Thursday evening between 6p and dark I fished the upper end of Dunlap. Bluegill and some nice Redear were found holding by docks in 8 to 10 feet of water. Picked up a very nice bass by the Marriott. Plastic worms Chartreuse/Green got the best results for the bass. Small crank baits Chartreuse/Green got good results on the sunnies. Fly fished a local creek Friday between 10am and 4pm and the bite was basically "Non Stop"! Caught nice Bluegill,Redbreast,Rios, and a couple of bass. Sinking Grasshoppers, sinking Lady Bug,and various poppers worked great. Fish were holding in 2 to 4 feet of water by brush piles and grass beds. I also saw a few fish on nest including some Rios.

Great report Laker. Yup, I predict 2018 to be a great big fish year with new records set by folks we know every week. banana

Nice report L.O. Love your style of fishing!

Side Note: I know there is no public ramp for Mcqueeney and that there is one private ramp that does allow public use. Do any other of the private ramps allow public use if permission is asked? Just wondering.

Gitter Done:
Other than the ramp off of FM725 the only other way to get on Mcqueeney is knowing someone that is living on the lake that has a ramp or being a member/guess of the Mcqueeney HOA! nuts They (Residence living on Mcqueeney) have their own private lake! soap

Thanks LO! It's amazing how a public lake can turn private! Wounder how many tax dollars go to the GBRA to maintain Mcqueeney?
