Just moved to Austin and fishing the docks on Travis are challenging. Big cables running out of all corners. I'm used to fishing crank baits or the like on all corners. How do you fish them? Especially ones in DEEP water?

Just flip up next to them with whatever you want. They�ll come out and get it. Usually right below the styrofoam.

I personally like to pitch/skip a swim jig around them. I personally rarely will toss anything with trebles near a cable but it is doable most of the time.

Watch bassfest live in a couple weeks. If there is an efficient way if fishing them those guys will be doing it

FYI, if you've never fished Lake Travis, most of the docks on the bank side have at least 15 foot of water and on the front side can be as deep as 55 feet of water. Are fish really sitting under those and that deep water?

Yea, well I slam them doing that when they�re suspended on something. Forget about the depth and focus on the cover.

Tube baits with a 1/8oz head... they spiral down slowly next to the foam bass will come out and grab them. Slow roll spinner baits and swim jigs down the sides. Suspending Jerk baits, swim baits and flukes... any bait you can work slowly just below the float level.

Fish it. Make whatever kind of cast you can. With floating docks you just have to deal with it.

yeah travis docks are hard to fish. those cables will eat your lunch.

Lake Austin, LBJ, Inks, and Buchanan have friendly fishing docks. Travis docks are very hard to fish. You have to fish over or under the cables. Also you will be very surprised with how deep and far out those cables go
