Since I practically live on this lake i fish it more than any other, way more than I should probably. Im thinking I want to branch out more. My question to everyone who has been fishing it for a while what are your impressions on it for Largemouth 1 being extremely difficult and 10 being a great LMB lake.

I feel once every 3 or so trips I have a good day and fill a solid bag, but those other trips I take may only yield small bass and or minimal numbers, sometimes even failing to fill the boat with 5 keepers.

If I wanted to fish a lake where I could get good numbers of keepers, not necessarily giants, but good numbers, what lake would you recommend?

I think I have a better chance at catching a DD on Lewisville than I do any other lake in DFW area. Once you figure out the seasonal pattern, the fish are in the same areas every year. I have spots that I know each year I'm going to catch a 8+. It does have tough days just like any other lake.

Live within a 1/4" mile of the Little Elm ramp for close to 20 years. Its a good lake, better for numbers that Roberts in my opinion. Not size but numbers. I can usually scratch out a limit.

I fish it around 100 times a year. This year has been slower than normal, but big fish are still being caught. I know what to expect, and a number of spots to find them. I really need to spend some more time up in the LE area on though. Honestly, until Roberts get good grass again, I would stick to Lewisville.

I lived on eagle mountain for years and went and fished old lake dallas often. loved the lake, but road traffic became a nightmare. Retired and moved to east Texas. The only thing that slows me down now, is school buses, tractors, and heath. Forming a pattern, seemed easy for me on lake dallas.

BAck when I was guiding on it, I had to know the lake quite a bit. When it was 10' low, I took a bunch of video and know where a lot of stuff is. When I guaranteed you or I would catch a bass, you knew I had the lake down pretty well. Never had to make good on that guarantee in 106 trips, so I guess I got lucky. Only caught 1 fish twice. But a BASS came into the boat. Had the lake record for a while before KVD beat it, but if you are going to get bested by a fisherman, why not him. LOL. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck. OH, I voted it an 8.

OH, records show I fished it 495 times since 1993, so I would HOPE I had a good feeling about the lake.

I have very limited experience on any lakes not named Lewisville or Ray Roberts. Lew has plenty of fish and plenty of good fish.

Lewisville is definitely one of those lakes where 20% holds 80% of the fish. I zeroed regularly starting out, but it's better now.

I rate Lew up there very high. I actually gave it a 9. Lew can be tough at times, but so can any lake. The majority of the time the lake will produce, and produce good. 2017 wasn't as good as 2016, but was still real good. 2016 was one of the best fishing years that I've ever had on any lake for solid fish 4-6lbs. I would rank it up there with some of the lakes that I fished when they were peaking; such as Alan Henry,Falcon, Fork, etc. This year I haven't fished much so no report for 2018. I would still bet that Lew is alive, well, and thriving, if you know what you're doing.

I grew up on Toledo Bend and have been fishing Lake lavon since I live in Lavon.
Now I will try Lewisville and hope to have as much success as you guys.
I tried Lake Fork once but man did I scar my bay boat up.
A bad fishing beats a good day Working
