So I'm getting closer to sealing my lower unit. I have a 97 Mercury 150xr6. My prop seal was torn. Replaced those. I drained the unit to see how it was looking after using some. So I still have water contamination. I noticed a oil stain on a hole on the right side of the gearcase up toward the top. There's actually two holes on the right. The front hole is where the stain is. Any ideas? Shift shaft seal?

shift shaft or drive shaft take it an have it pressure tested to see where it is leaking an you wont have to fix something that isn't broke.

As mentioned, have it pressure tested and repaired.

just reseal the complete lower unit and be done with it. a seal kit is nit very expensive versus the damage water can do
