Why wait until August? A couple of the guides have been killing them in big SB's for the past 4 weeks at Fork.

Why wait until August? A couple of the guides have been killing them in big SB's for the past 4 weeks at Fork. Had a guide who was an absolute tool to me and my dad a couple weeks ago throwing swimbaits on the point between little mustang and big mustang in a red/gray/black skeeter. He was pointed in the other direction as I pulled up. Soon as he saw me, he turned around and raced to the point, put his power poles down and asked if I'd like to share a fishing spot with him. Unfortunately for his customers, they didn't look like they were enjoying the day very much. But it probably didn't help when he confronted a guy and his 70 year old dad just trying to have a peaceful day on the water.

Lee is a good guy and knows fork very well. We could have caught a ton of fish but I wanted to stick to the swimbait. We had one on the swimbait and a few missed bites. I learned a lot about the lake and how to eliminate water which was my main goal. I primarily wanted to take some of the learning curve off and that we did. I would highly recommend him if you want a great guide for fork. He is constantly getting the next bait ready so your never not fishing.
I have a ton of confidence that I can stick lots of big swimbait fish on that lake just from being there 3 days this last weekend and am pretty antsy to get a boat here in a few months.

It was pretty white, caught shallow and muddy. Super healthy though, very fat fish.
