I have a new Ultrex not even a year old. At times when I push on the trolling button the motor doesnt turn on. I have to keep pressing on it. Also Ipilot kicks on almost throwing me out of the boat at times trying to keep me in position. Obviously something is not right. Any recommendations?

The pedal switch is a known issue and can be fixed by yourself or at a repair facility. There are a few posts about it recently that you can search for to explain what it is.

As far as the ipilot, this is why I have disagreed with people in the past who tell everyone that you can never have too much trolling motor. The good news for you is that I believe that they now have a setting to adjust that. Go into the settings and look for boat scale. Try adjusting that back from what it is default at right now. That should slow down the corrections on the spotlock and correct that issue for you.

I had my ultrex do that exact same thing when it was a couple months old, took it to Sartin Marine and Brian replaced the armature (it had a bad spot on it) and its been gold ever since.. Took him about 30 minutes..

Finally went out during Kongs of Cowtown on Lewisville. Thinking of going back to Fortrex.

Ulterra is not immune either.
Trim belt on mine broke.
Part is only 40.00 but is suppose to be a PIA to install.
Watched a YouTube video on how to.
Calling repair centers this morning to see when I can get it in their shop. taz

THIS! I had the exact same issue. Brian Sartin told me it happens from time to time if you hit a stump doing Mach 2 which I had done. As mentioned, it was a simple and quick fix.

For the auto pilot thing, are you sure you're not hitting the N button which turns the boat immediately north? I've done that a few times and it's been a couple close calls. LIke the other poster said I adjusted the speed on that.

Sorry, but activating the N button doesnt turn an Ultrex to a north heading. It activates the course lock and stays on the compus heading that the head is facing. Turn the head and it changes the course.
