Just received my new Xi5 and will be installing this weekend. Will connect via NMEA 2000 network to my Elite Ti 7. Question...Does the power source to the NMEA network need to be be connected in a manner that it remains "hot" all the time or should it be on a switch? I prefer a switch but I've read in troll motor instructions that on initial setup that you need to deploy the troll motor and let it and the FF get a GPS lock before powering on the network. Does that mean each time I power off the network that I will need to go through the same process of getting GPS locks before turning on the network? Any input is appreciated.

A switch is recommended. no need to recalibrate each time, that is for the trolling
motor , not the network ..
