I was bummed when I had to reschedule my tawakoni trip with Andrew until my friend texted me to join him on a trip with Wes on Lewisville. I was able to add another friend and the four of us launched at 7 in search of sandbass, The wind was whipping pretty hard but Wes was able to keep us on fish without hitting the waves in the middle of the lake.

The first stop was over a school of decent sized fish and we were able to put 27 fish in the boat before deciding to move on. We were dropping live shad 1-6 feet off the bottom and the sandbass were all over them immediately. We switched to another spot when the bite slowed and again had plenty of the fish respond on the sonar, however they were not as aggressive. We still caught fish but at a much slower pace.

The next stop the fish were nuts. They were hitting right away so we actually switched from shad to slabs and caught two at a time. Over time the fish became smaller so we moved again. We hit two spots with little fish then hit two more spots with decent sized fish and again used both bait and slabs. Fishing was awesome and we ended up with 76 keepers threw back about as many small ones and a few undersized hybrids. Another great trip as always!
