I crappie fish occasionally in the summertime. I am going to visit family on a lake where I can catch them good on brush piles in the summer. Is it too early in the year for them to be on piles? The lake is in East Texas.

Thanks,

There are crappie on brush piles now, best depths for me have been around 18-20 feet.

No sir, piles are full of fish right now here in east Texas. And have had crappie on most of them for almost two months now in 8 to 14 foot of water. Hope this helps and good luck!!!

Thanks,

In order to help you I need you to much more specific about where this lake is in "East Texas"... And where each brush pile is also....then we could come up with a game plan to help put us, I mean you on fish...East Texas has three zip codes you know.

Troy, the only thing you forgot to mention is that you would provide the menners, for the trip! And help him clean the crappie!

Brush piles are the consistent producers right now in East Texas.

If you aren't catching "Keepers" in 15 minutes, move on to the next one.
