Fished our local lake today for about 2.5 hours and caught about 25 fish. Private pond, lake, our neighbeor owns and we caught about 17+ lbs on our top 5. Big fish was a 5.5 Plus pound fish. Next was a 3.5 and a 3.24 and some smaller 2 lbers for the most part. LOTS of smaller fish and thank the good lord for that. because they are reproducing. Was a LIGHTER 5 fish limit than normal, because they are about to be spawning. The bigger fish were full of eggs. This is a private lake our neighbors own that 25 acres when full. It is down about 13' now, so it is about 12' high, but still a great little fishy pound. Nothing big but some goo fish from there. Normally catch 6+ LB FISH THERE, BUT NOT TODAY. LOTS of little fish today, which so a good fishery, at least I hope so. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Thad Rains, from Post, Tx.

Forgot to say, they are about to put another 1000 lbs of minnows into the lake soon. GREAT little fishery for a small lake/stock pound.

Sounds like a fun day Mr. Rains. Thanks for sharing. What baits were producing the best?

Mr. Harper,

Best baits were the swim jig and a split shot lizard. SB took a few (like 4 or 5), too.. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck. No spawners yet, at the little lake.

There have been several inquiries about this little private lake. It is private and only getting permission from the owner Jack to fish it. He lets me fish it when I ask, but I try mot to go overboard on it. Mr. H_______________ respects his privacy and I should not have put this on here, but wanted everyone to know that there are GREAT little fisheries out there if you can find them and get permission to fish them. This is a privately owned lake that has been stocked with out of pocket money, not TPWD. It is in the middle of his 10 section ranch here in the panhandle. He lives on the way to the lake, too. LOL. Sorry, I should not have posted about it. He wants to maintain the privacy of it.

Respectfully,

Thad Rains
