Pretty funny to be saved by grace yet mach what somebody else does...perhaps you should practice giving a little grace yourself...

Anyway glad you got to experience that i-fish and hope you have many more to come!

Same thing happened to me at Fork this past Friday. We were pre-fishing a tourney and I was fishing a protected cove area over by Axton's. I tossed a black and blue chatter bait with a black creature bait trailer and was slow rolling it off a drop-off near a boat ramp and a patch of lilley pads and some hydrilla. I felt a huge thump, and set the hook, thinking I had a "decent" fish. Got a jump out of her and she seemed decent, then she came towards the boat and proceeded to take my rod down, all the way under the boat, to where she almost had my hands and reel in the water. I couldn't budge her, and then she went around the trolling motor to the other side, and that is when she jumped, I got a good look at her, and she threw the hook. She had to be every bit of 7 - 8 pounds, because she made my personal best 6.5 pounder seem like a schoolie bass. I was so excited at how big she was, and how I just knew that I'd get one just like her Saturday for the tourney, that I wasn't even that upset that she came off. Of course, the next day, I managed to catch one 15 and 3/4 inch bass, all day.... figures!

Brother, I can see what you are saying. I am poking fun at Chase. I have been complimenting him in his last video. We live in an amazing country where people get to do what they want. I have been a critic of chases in the past. Im glad he gets to make videos and do something he loves. Who am I to judge? Im broken, Im nobody. Thank you for pointing that out. I appreciate you saying something. I was just having good natured fun. Chase has managed to do something I havent been able to do in 7 years of fishing. Catch 5 fish over 8 lb.s. Who am I to judge?

If we caught them all, we wouldn't keep at it like we do.
The big ones trick you from the start by not snatching the bait or panicking as soon as they are hooked. They are like jujitsu masters of odd angles and avoiding maximum tension on the line.

The only problem I have is people seem to discredit him as a person. He is literally following the rules of the program that is in place. I'm betting no one here has fished with him personally.

Had the opportunity to fish Camelot Bell about a month ago. Caught a 10.5 about the fourth cast on a Thumper. An hour later I was fishing a Mag Fluke off a shallow brushy point. I get a bite and set the hook, I can tell this is a giant fish. The kind that when you hit them on heavy braid you can feel the rod bending between the butt and the reel seat and you know they're not hung up.

I told my partner to get the net. I got 6 or seven cranks on her and she stuck half her body outta the water and shook her head. The bait comes flying back at me! I get the bait back and look closely at it. The hook point had come out of the bait but I suppose the way she had it folded up in her head, caused the hook point to go back thru the bait. So only the point of the hook was in her, not the barb.

I am pretty confident she was between 13-14 pounds. I caught a 15 in Jan 2012 near this spot and this fish was in that class.

I am still mad about that one! realmad

I had similar experience at Rayburn on good Friday. The wife and I were out and I had started making Swim jigs and had success on them last time I was up(caught a 5 & 7). I headed back to same area, a small creek and start drifting the center of it. I cast out and feel ka thump set the hook and tell the wife this is a big fish. It jumps and my wife is freaking out and starts trying to get the net that is velcro strapped in out and I get it to the boat it makes a few more surges at the boat and comes up ready to be netted and wife is still freaking out. Fish turns one last time and hook pops out. I have caught a 10 pounder before and my guess would have been 12 plus on this one.

Sometimes u get lucky sometimes u don't. Caught a 26" bass on Amistad that ran into 3 bushes on 14 fluoro. I thought 3 times she was gone during that fight.

Not much of a worse feeling than looking back on a day on the water and thinking what could have been.

I'm lucky to get my biggest bass in the boat. She weighed 10.49 and of course I caught her while I was prefishing lol.

Before that, my PB was 7 and I had caught two in the 7lb range. I was doing some fun fishing with a frog and was using mono because it floats better than flouro. Well a giant blows up on the frog and I set the hook. She jumps out of the water and makes a run. I had her on for about 5 second and she just comes unbuttoned. I estimate she was somewhere in the 8 pound range so it was a tough pill to swallow. I switched to braid after that.
