Do you guys nose the boat toward the point and fish the length of it or get on one side and fish across the point?

The majority of the time I fish the length of it, but it mostly depends on where the fish are set up on the point. Sometimes they're on the tip, near the drop off, sometimes they're on the sides, sometimes they're up shallow on the point. That's why it's important to use your electronics to see where they are.

Pull up to the side of the point about 100 yards from the end. Keep the boat in 20 ft. of water as not to get on top of any staging fish. Man is front is throwing your favorite search baits that can be cast a long distance toward the shallows. Man in the back is dragging a Crig with a Baby Brush Hog. Always work down the side into the wind if possible to go as slow as possible. Work out and around the end of the point on that same 20 ft. Contour. The man dragging the Crig from the back will strike across the point when you make the turn to go down the other side. His long lined Crig will come across at about 10 to 15 ft.. Many time the big fish of the day has come at this level. Work down the other side the same as the first; as slow as possible. Most of the extreme Irregular Features are on the sides of the points. It is a good decision to always take a look at your map before working the point, which will show you any protrusions or gouges in the point on the sides forming that irregular feature.

Always cast into wind. Looks more natural as you bring the bait to the fish. Theyre always facing the wind
