I ordered that lews reel that was on a post last week. Awesome price, ordered, payed, waited. Then they send an email a week later saying, order canceled unable to fulfill thank you. What a heart breaker after checking mail every day hoping for new reel. You would think computer is tracking sales versus inventory, I think it got posted here on TFF and was flooded with sales. So everybody that actually received theirs congrats on being faster then me lol.

I know you were excited to get the Lew's deal they had going on, but check out eBay. They have some really good deal on Lew's reels. Even Shimano. I have gotten some really good reels for really good prices on eBay. I'm talking 40-50 dollars off MSRP.

...so you guys have mentioned:
...Academy
...Bass Pro Shops
...TW
seems to me like very now and then everyone has an issue with an order
when you sell or ship thousands of orders a week it is bound to happen. Even happens in my business.
I am sure that whatever business you are in there has been a glitch at some point in time that makes you or your company look bad.
As the t-shirt says --- S**t Happens.

TW is the worst in the business. They will tell you an item is backordered for a week and then 6 months later keep adding a month to the delivery date. I have an order from November that has been due tomorrow for 6 months.

Maybe don't order [censored] that's backordered . I don't lol

That's not tw fault. Those dates are provided by the manufacture.

I have a hard time believing this is the case 100% of the time. I made an order during the 25 days of Christmas sale. About half of the stuff was here within a week, the rest I still haven't seen or heard anything about. The stuff that hasn't come in yet is from 4 different manufacturers so I don't think it is always a manufacturer thing. This is only the second time I have ordered from TW and had similar issues both times.

The only complaint I have with Academy and TW is how much of my money they take. Past that they are excellent in regards to price, selection and customer service.

You shouldn't be finding out that an item wasn't in stock a week after you ordered it.That's pretty bad on their part

Academy has always treated me great on any of my stuff for my addiction.
I have had the same issues at Academy-TW and Tackle Addict and each of them handled it great, took care of the situation and I still spend way too much money on tackle with each that evidently don't work, LOL...

its just fishin...

Ive stopped ordering from academy for this reason. My last 3 orders I got an email that order shipped a day after purchase. All three times 2 days later I got email order canceled. Like seriously canceled or shipped.

It's a different world today. Any of y'all remember the catalog days when you often waited 6-8 weeks for an item to arrive?

Internet and ordering is good and bad. Convenient but you are ordering from a computer not a person. The computer only knows what has been input as inventory.

Best way to solve the problem AND support your local tackle shop is actually go to a store. It still works and you can even pay with cash if you want to, you know the green stuff! You get to walk out the door with toys in hand, it is awesome!

See you on the lake and have a great day!

You can do way better than that on ebay. I tried out the SLP that retails for $299. Got it for like $160 on ebay.

I can't ever recall an issue with Academy or TW. Academy deals seem to be tied to store stocks. I have ordered some sale items and quantity ordered came in multiple shipments from different locations so you are racing against the store shoppers also I would bet on those items.

I remember ordering a pair of homing pigeons from a magazine, back in the 60s. Had to drive to Sweetwater, 70 miles away to pick them up at the train station. roflmao
