Never understood the Texoma deal, it is a huge lake and can handle a tournament that size easy, no matter where it is it will be a well run event.

Because Chad and Jeff do this to make money and cities or local business will pay you to bring in 450-500 people to an area for 4-5 days. They've done the Texoma thing in the past and it was a flop turnout-wise is my understanding.

I'm sticking with Lewisville or Conroe while hoping for Lewisville. I think there is less than a 5% chance it's on a river again this year.

And I'm with HappyKamper, wherever they have it, it will be first class and well run.

Does champ avoid lakes they fish in a region?
This is my first time back under this format. I fished with champs south back in 2005/06 and it was a regional championship tournament and they took the top 10 from each region and that was the major championship.

Yes, their rules state the championship will not be held on any lake fished during the regular season by any of the regions. That's what makes them finding a location so difficult and that generally causes an uproar for some.

Yep

Me too... wish one of the Casinos would step it up and bring it Texoma, but I doubt any place is going to pony up the same kind of $$ Shreveport does.

I really hope they go somewhere besides the Red River. Change it up a bit.

As someone who recently fished the Red River with ABA and is not a Champs participant, I hope for you ALL that it is not there...

I wouldn't mind going to the Red every year if the flooded hadn't destroyed the fishery. We've had a blast there every year except last year because the fishing was so brutal and the river itself was very dangerous in lots of places. There is a ton to do there and Champs puts on a great show but I think those floods took all the fish down South.

Then I hope they go back. Better chance of me winning a door prize.
