I know some guys on here that would be well over 100 "SAL's" with this new method. I weighed in two a couple weeks ago. I didn't call TPWD....I just collected the money and let em go at the boat ramp.

In the real world, I guess a solid over from a slot lake is a sal now days. In the fishing world, I think it should still be 13+.

Just my opinion.....and we all know it don't mean squat.

Congrats on whacking those fish.

Great video and congrats on the fish.

As far as the SAL comments do whatever floats your boat. If i was a guide I would Use that market myself for sure. Some dont understand it, Im one of those guys just not my deal.

Ive been fortunate to catch a few 13+ in public waters on my cheap scales and didnt feel like dealing with the SAL process

I have a buddy who in no way will stand there with his hands in his pockets......as a matter of fact he has been known to let me work up a fish that size while just randomly casting around and then pitch in there as I reel up and catch it his first cast. Lol. Thought I was gonna $@&t

I do guide but I try to focus on helping them catch fish & learn new techniques & filming would be one more thing to worry about so I don't film with clients. That was a buddy that was fishing with me not a client.

I highly doubt that anyone has caught over 100 8lbers in 4 months & you don't have to call TPWD I have an app on my phone that you submit the SAL on.

if you are calling SAL over 8 # their are guides on fork who would do that most all the time. Heck me and a buddy did this very thing if you drop it to 7 pounds back in 2011-2012. We haven't fish that much since then to say about now. Heck I have been gone for two years second day back had a ten pounder on fork, and yes it was weigh on Boga grips scales. There are a lot of people on fork that load the boat on 7-9.5 pounder on a routine bases.

by the way still a nice video and fish.

It was a nice fish for sure but I think they need to give those fish a different designation other than SAL. That term should be associated with a fish that is very special like before. If all you have to do is snap a pic and use an app then the state is basically saying that it's a great fish but nothing special. I am not being critical just making a general statement on my view.

I think this guy is the only one who is misusing the term hammer Reason he does it is for the clicks and the backlash. He may be a little annoying but he is not stupid.
