My wife shot this 60 1/2", 31.38 lb., long nose gar on Belton Sunday morning. It was a real cluster for us to get it in finally without really being prepared with a gaff. She doesn't shoot much weight so there wasn't a lot of penetration, made for some nail biting times for sure. FINS and BONES certified it and will also mount the fish.

Aqua, the animus against bowfishing stems from those who wantonly kill and waste huge amounts of so-called "trash" fish. This is a subject that I tend to get angry about, as waste of fish by any means is wrong.

No I didn't but learning fast, if I hang around here long enough to learn. I don't know if people are serious or not. I actually couldn't believe that the guy on the rough fish page was for real? We didn't waste the thing, heck it went to gar heaven. Mounted and we will try and eat it? What more could a gar want? This place is cool and I look forward to lurking on here I am just not sure posting is worth all the EXTRA stuff. Thanks for all the positive comments and jokes.

Doesn't matter where they're dumped "wanton waste" laws still apply. Shoot all ya want and the biggest you can find, if that's what you want to do. That's your right and I support that. Being a jack wagon and dumping fish at a ramp should be grounds for big fines and suspended fishing license. If I bow fished I'd be pissed finding dumped fish, makes the whole sport and other fishermen look bad.

Could not agree more Uncle Zeek, big difference between the left and right photos shown below. I hated seeing the one on the left and hated that I had to move those fish so that I could launch my boat...BUT... LOVE LOVE LOVE to see happy faces with the catch of a lifetime like the one on the right.. congrats Aqua.
