Fishing late April and May here on Richland Chambers is just fantastic!
The Hybrid Striper fishing is maybe better than I have ever seen right now.
Now after saying that be sure when you catch one to measure it first thing.
It needs to be 18 inches long before you can keep it and if it isn't just let it go and make another cast.
The next one you catch will probably be the one you have been looking for.
My fishermen are casting a big 4 inch one ounce chartreuse sassy shad and just reeling it back almost immediately its FISH ON!
Most of these fish are running shallow under working birds.
Some mornings I do a little catfishing for blue cat after we catch a bunch of sandbass and hybrids it's just according to the mornings conditions!
I'm not sure if the crappie are really done with the spawning .
With all the cool fronts they just keep moving in and out but I have to believe there's only a couple of weeks left for them being on the banks and then they will begin holding on there brush piles not that a lot of them aren't already.
I can't say much about the black bass other than folks seem to be doing pretty good on them.
