Yes. I have a buddy of mine that's been in a boat fishing the jetties and catching reds when the winds allow. Not sure about rollover. Capt Steven Grem.

his website is gowithgrem.com if others are interested

Fortunately we have a year round resident population of Bull Reds on the upper Texas coast. Surf temp about 70 degrees at Crystal and the Bulls are active. Four of us caught 18 Bulls from kayaks off shore on Monday. Small sharks are also in the larger black tips will be in about 76-78 degrees.

Fish move seasonally, 2 months is a long time in the fish world. But in june you should find some slots on the jetties. I believe Rollover is to be closed by then.

Your lucky brotha I live about 3 1/2 hours from galveston/Crystal beach. But I work in a family run business so it's hard to take off and hit up the coast. Hell last time I went to the coast to actually get some good fishing in was about 4 years ago

Yea brotha I know it sucks. In June what will be in season around the crystal beach area. I try and get at least 2 days out the week to fish lakes around my area. But I won't to start going to the coast more often I need to learn the seasons for reds. I've caught only 1 red so far and it was a fun fight and a great meal.

I'll piggyback on this post if you don't mind. My brother just bought a house on Crystal Beach and I've got access to it a couple of weekends each month, so I'm going to be fishing the hell out of that area. Any tips, areas, directions, insight about the area would be greatly appreciated. No boat, and not real familiar with Bolivar. Mostly fish Galveston and Surfside area.

Watch the drop offs next to the sand bars. Wear a PFD if ya wade. Bull sharks should be in abundance. Lot of thieves out that way. Watch your gear and homes. Watch for RIP CURRENTS. Have fun and stay safe

Point I was making was that if you are getting intel right now, it may not apply to 2 months from now. Now you know. For June, for land locked fishermen on either Boliver or Galveston, the jetties are good. The surf is also good as long as the wind allows you to fish it. We could be in for a windy summer if this keeps up. Calm, lite north, NE, or light SE is preferable for the beach. The fish are always there even when the wind get's up, but with higher winds you just can cast / fish it well enough. The jetties allow you to go out farther and control your distance of how far out you are or not. Sometimes I fish right at the bast of the jetty between the 2 and 3rd bar, sometimes at the very end. This is the same for the Freeport jetties as well. On the Galveston side there is also the Pass. The surf adjacent to the pass can be good for slot reds and trout. Be very careful and as Vbottom said wear your pfd in and around the pass. Every year we loose an angler or 2 to drowning in that area. You can also walk in on the back side of the pass where the 1st gut of the pass is closest to the shoreline.

Hope that helps. Good luck guys
t

Gotcha brotha. From what I'm reading on here and on other discussions I'm gonna stick to the jetty. Thank you for the input it really helps. Hopefully the weather permits for some surf fishing
