The Ray Hubbard Bass Club had our third members only tournament last Saturday April 14th on Lake Tawakoni. Despite a brutal wind howling from the north and chilly temperatures, we had 27 boats come out. Most took advantage of our trailering rules and stayed off that nasty main lake. The water was muddy and the lake is full. It seemed like you needed to hit them on the head once in a while to get bit, but most everyone did that a few times so the fishing was decent. At the end of the day, everyone came back safely and with nothing broken that I heard of. Our winners were David Choate and Stan Browning who weighed in a stout 17.34 pound bag. They also had big bass of the tournament with a 6.09 toad. Here are full results and pictures.

TD's Robert Hitt and John Bruner had two for 4.53

David Mulkey and Tommy Yates were the first to arrive checking livewells during registration and one of the last to leave, Here they are with their two for 5.26. David showing his best Bill Dance to the camera move. cheers

Kelly Langhorne and David Rosenquist had three for 5.70

Paul Spann and Broderick Yeager had two good bites that weighed 7.65

Last years Tawakoni winners, Vince Burt and Mark Werner had a limit for 8.45

Jimmy Phillips and Randy Bridges had four for 10.01. One more bite...

Brian Brooks and James Sharp had the rough first out of the money spot with a limit for 12.08 that included a 4.29 kicker.

6th place went to Eddy Wooldridge and Bryan Toombs with five for 12.59

5th place went to Cameron Laing and Patrick Sharp with five for 12.95. Smile Cameron! You got some money back! grin

4th place went to Bryce Glick fishing solo who had four for 13.71 with a 4.84 big fish. Unfortunately he lost a much larger fish at the net, that might have given him the win. Train one of the dogs to net the fish Bryce! thumb

Third place went to Chris Atkinson and myself. We had five for 13.89. I have perfected looking good holding my partners fish...

Cypress champs Ronnie Manning and Capp Peace got 2nd place on Capp's home water with a good limit that weighed 16.37

Here are your winners! Forney Bass Club President David Choate and his partner Stan Browning had five for 17.34 that included big bass of 6.09. Congratulations guys!

Thanks to David Mulkey, Tommy Yates, Robert Hitt, Paul Spann and John Bruner for running the show. Our next opportunity is the RHBC Open coming up this Saturday April 28th at Lake Ray Hubbard going out of Chandlers Landing. Here is a link to more info. Hope to see you there!

Nice job guys! Capp and I just couldnt get a good 5 pounder to bite! Culled many times, just not big enough culls. We actually won it last year with almost 23 pounds, these fish are a month behind this year! Its tough out there finding quality bites this year!
