Was able fish all three of my days off from work this week. I fished Mcqueeney Wednesday. Fished the inner canals and was able to find some nice Bluegill and Redear in the 8 to 9 inch range. Fish were in 6 to 8 feet of water by docks. Also located some crappie by the west end of the lake over by the dam. The crappie were in 15 feet of water over a brush pile. Jigs,Chartreuse/Pink got the best results. Small Rooster Tail,Chartreuse/Green was used on the sunfish. Kept a few Bluegill and crappie for the dinner table. Fished Placid and Dunlap on Thursday. The bite on Placid was fair. Fished east of I-10. Caught a few nice Bluegill and six crappie. Gulp Alive Minnows was the bait used. Fish were located in 12 to 15 feet of water by docks. Fished Dunlap that afternoon. Caught a bunch of nice sunfish upper river holding by docks and Cypress Trees in 3 to 10 feet of water. Some of the fish were holding close to the bank. Several nice bass in the 2 to 4 pound range rounded out the catch. The sunfish were caught on small soft plastics(worms,Chartreuse/Black). The bass were caught on a Silver Rattle Trap. Finished the week off at a local creek using my flyrod. Caught good numbers on nice sunfish in the 7 to 9 inch range. Sinking Crawdad and a Red/Yellow Lady Bug Popper got good results. Fish were in shallow water 3 to 4 feet deep holding close to brush piles and gravel bars. Saw a few active nest! I think the spring spawn on the Guadalupe River will be in early May. The early stages of spawn on the creeks is going on now and will pick up the next couple of weeks. Just my two cents. Creek was in good condition but could use some rain. Fished from my Kayak on the Guadalupe River and wade fished on the creek. woot

Nice Curtis. WTG on getting in so much fishing! Sounds like a lot of action. Our Sunnies are not as active up here and this is the 3rd weekend in a row for a significant cold front.

Don't worry about the mule, just load the cart

Thanks Chuck and Fritz for your replies. Fritz: It's been a little warmer down here. There have been a lot of cold fronts blowing through since March. I know you guys up north get them harder than we do. So far for what I see it's going to be a great sunfish year! Chuck: Yes Sir starting to get a few more crappie at our brush piles. Fishing the far east side is another story!
