I would've been done before he got the line through the eye. Have Tom Gravely show you how to do it. I was doing it the hard way until he showed me.

I never knew there was a hard way. I just timed myself. 15 seconds including snipping the tag end.

If you have a leader cut off of the main line it should take just a few seconds. I can do it in about 5 seconds. It takes longer if you are tying to a mainline since you will have to use a different version.

What's the lightest line you've tried this not on?

That the way I was taught, make sure you go through the eye of the hook exactly how he does in the video and out the opposite side of the eye, won’t work properly if you do it backwards.
