If they are the same schedule as Benbrook cats they are currently holding eggs.

Doubtful usually starts late May or June in north Texas

We’re behind schedule this year, and like everyone mentioned it usually doesn’t start until May, so I’d say it’s at least a month away from even starting. Even then you’ll still catch them in April on a spawn like pattern chasing spawning shad.

I’ll be out there everyday may 8-11. Not sure I can get fresh shad but was thinking cut bluegill. Will also have a pole or two rigged for sandies. What y’all think?

Shad are spawning and should be easy to get in the mornings.

I’ll try and throw a net for shad but I’ll be on the lake doing a police marine safety enforcement class so I won’t have any choice on locations.
