Does many people use this size of head? I was looking at getting this mold, but if there is not a huge demand for it I don't need it. I have a 1/32oz and a 1/16oz mold. Just curious to see what everyone has to say.
Also what about a 1/100oz head?

I doubt you will get much call for the 1/24. I like it, but its a pretty specialized size. Also what about a 1/100oz head? If you are tying trout jigs, maybe??

I actually used to use the frequently...now, I tend to work with the 1/32 and 1/64, Jigheads instead...or 1/16, which seems to be a good performer for most folks. Or restated, I like them, but it is hard to fish them when your boat buddy is using a 1/16 head, cause he has never heard of a 1/24 head...

cause he has never heard of a 1/24 head... LOL, that's what I was going to say: the majority of fishermen don't even know they exist. I use it in place of the 1/32. It is the lightest I ever fish.

I have the mold, I use the 1/24th mainly in the winter or when fishing places that have high pressure from fishermen. Such as marinas and fishing barges.
I would rather die finding out there was no God than die finding out there is.

Also what about a 1/100oz head? IMHO:It makes a GREAT Hand Tied profile and a serious Big Shell Cracker JIG! PM sent

I'm not experienced in crappie but I am at fly tying. That so lite that it might be easier to use a cone head or tie on some bead chain eyes or dumbbell eyes.

I think I have made my decision. Going to do 1/64, 1/32, 1/16 and 1/8 hand tied jigs. I may expand out more down the road but for right now going to stick to these sizes.
I got a couple pretty good size orders to start on next week and once I get them done I will be able to pour heads and get stocked up for the winter bite.
Thanks for all the info guys.

I like the 1/24 with a #6 hook. I use a lot when I don't know whether to use 1/32 or 1/16. Actually what I like the best is which ever is closest to the crappie's mouth.

I use them for Gills and trout. Have tied for Crappie and they only get used when the bite is very light or high pressured locations.

who makes a good 32nd oz jig with a number 8 hook, eagle claw round bend style
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
