I have a boat trailer that is stored at a marina and never goes on a public street. Seems like a waste of money to keep it registered when it doesn't use public roads. Is there any way to stop paying for tag renewals?

Just don’t renew the registration. But you may need to take the boat somewhere sometime that requires a trailer tag to get there and you will need to tag it or not and pay ticket if caught on the highway.

If you have to move it at some point there is a temp tag you can get. Only good for just a few days.
