G. Loomis E6X cranking rod is what I use for jerkbaits. The one I have is 7ft, but Im 6'3". If you are average height, I would use a 6'8"-6'10 inch medium rod with a fast tip.

7' Ugly Stick Lite in Medium.
Wouldn't throw a jerkbait, small square bill, or small topwater on any other rod even if it was given to me. Can feel them hit it on the pause with semi-slack line.
