Thanks. All I’ve seen is the dead black grass. Have a couple of spots that have had grass last couple of years that are void of ALL life right now.

Look in Johnny's cove, a little grass over there.

We went friday as well. Boated 40 fish between the two of us. Best baits were a jerkbait and a swimbait on an under spin. All fish were caught shallow but i am thinking the fish are on their way out soon. Johnny's cove has some grass around it but most of our fish came from the Niad(sp?) that we found out in about 5ft.

I didn't know she was still swimming after all these years.

Four days on the lake - four boats. Early bite on the reeds turned off when the sun got over the horizon but good numbers early on traps, under spins and square bills. Good fish in the trees during midday - cranks, Texas rig plastics, wacky rigs. Best bite probably came on Sweet Beaver and Baby Brush Hog. Found big schools offshore but had difficulty firing them up with deep cranks. Good numbers (and some good size) on C-Rig lizards (tilapia color) and Baby Brush Hogs (green pumpkin with green and purple flake). Scouting for offshore fish kept numbers down but we still had good numbers. Good lake to try out new techniques.

I went to Fayette the other day and there is no grass to be found, sorry for my false reply. There was some a few months a go, but not now...

I did find a little grass yesterday. The wind was howling so I didn't look much. Most of it seemed to be emergent growth and short and scattered, but it looked very healthy from what I was pulling up on my baits. Hopefully it will start spreading and growing the next few weeks. I boated 8 in about 3 hours yesterday afternoon and missed probably another 8. The bite was very weird - lots of short strikes too. Tried a couple of new spots and stayed out of the white caps. Caught all on swim bait on an under-spin. First time to throw that bait on Fayette

I ended up with five and missed more or they came unbutton real fast like. A good rod bend and then gone, zero. They were short striking the baits for sure. The only thing my shallow under water baits would bring back was that nasty black slime, so tried to avoid those baits. Next time I go I am going to really change my baits up, I got a find something that will work better than I am custom to using. I think my choices will work so we will see. I might get back out there on Sunday, a buddy of mine wants to go fishing and he said he thought he might be have that day off.
