I’ve lost my lock out key for the trailer. Does anyone know where I can get another one or the magnetic one that attaches to the trailer? Thanks

Unfortunately I do not believe they are all the same. My older Ranger Trail had a different one than those listed above. There are plenty different models available on Amazon though. Should be able to match yours here: http://holidays.net/store/boat-trailer-surge-brake-lock-out-keyback-up-buddy-_120941559235.html or https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&ke...sl_1vly9w5l4g_b

This is the one I use on my EZ Loader and it works great.

If you hook up your back up lights to the plug (usually center pin) when they go on it turns the surge brake off via a solenoid on most.

I learned with my ford raptor (f150) that if tow haul was on then the brake didnt go to lock out in reverse. If tow haul is off it works as it should.

Just a fyi.

How does the lock out key or "tape and nickel" work? I have surge brakes on my trailer and never thought about what to do if I had an electrical issue.

It keeps the surge brake from sliding and locking up

If you have a UFP surge brake controller, this is the way to go. It replaces the plastic top cap. A quick turn and the brakes are locked out. Never have to worry about a key or nickel and tape. Its always there.
