Hi Heading to Galveston in a few weeks, will be Surf Fishing and Crabbing. Looking for a good spot to Surf fish, and not get into a huge crowd. Have fished SLP before but know it is edgy, and High Risk. I will not be wade fishing just Shore fishing with Big Rigs any advise is welcome..

go on past the pass onto Follets Island and try there. go about a mile past the pass and look for some old wrecked cars in the surf also look for shell right at the surf and waves breaking in a gut.

for parking/driving on the beach from Galveston to SLP, do you have to have a pass? and if so where do you buy one, for a weekend, or 5 days. thanks!!
