After 12 years of tournament fishing. Today I fished my toughest one yet, Crappie Masters Ultimate One Pole Challenge with my dad Darrel Standridge.
Mother Nature was a beast today to say the least. She will drain you mentally and physically. With 35 degree tempts. 30+ mph plus north winds, lighting and heavy rain and being soaking wet with 3+ foot swells. With cramps from being so cold and running the trolling motor, sometimes your leg won’t move.
After not being able to fish were i thought we were going to be able to fish because of the wind. I not wanting to fish shallow water we were left with no choice but to fish in shallow water. We fished 6foot or less. Run and Guned all day. We caught 9 fish all day and 11 bites. Big Gish was a #2.27. My dad missed another big one that really hurt us. Tough miserable day on the water. Just glad i got feelings back in hands and glad to be back on land!
Fish caught in 3” Bonehead Slim sticks
Days like this you have to want it bad. Placed 15th out of 76 teams. No win but I’m proud of our #11.41 stringer. Thanks Dad for toughing it out with me. You are a a tough old man.😂 And thanks to my wife and daughter coming out to the weigh in and supporting us. Blessed
