Ray Roberts is bound to pop any day.. I have been catching a few fish shallow but as soon as it gets almost right temperature wise we get some 30 degree days.. most of my fish are coming out deep. But I'll promise this.. with the weather this week and these days of sunshine, the shallow bite will be on by mid week no doubt. The days are long enough and the temps will be warm all week. It might cool down a bit this weekend, but it shouldn't matter. The spawn is later than I've ever seen. But this week is the week. All I have available this week is Tuesday evening trip, Wednesday evening trip and Sunday morning or afternoon! Most of my fish have come on bonehead brushgliders. Minnows are not necessary at all right now. Looking forward to fishing this week and seeing some of you guys out on the water!

Thanks for the report Cody! I was way back in a creek last week and the water was only 59. Found fish in 10-13 ft and they weren't even close to being ready to move up. Latest spawn I can remember also. Fish will be spawning well into May.

Fished yesterday with my kids on the north end of the lake...warmest water I could find was 53-56 degrees. Went through my pictures from last year just to verify I wasnt crazy, because I caught them STACKED in 1-3 fow at the end of March...still waiting.

Cody: That report sure helps me. Possum Kingdom lake has acted weird the last couple of weeks due to this weather. The only things I'm catching on jig and bobber are LM bass. I have NEVER seen the spawn this late before. The creeks should be full of sandbass but they are nowhere to be seen.

The sandbass are definitely in the creeks. I had a guy ask to use my good scales yesterday because he thought he caught the lake record sandbass. The record is 3.12 and he caught one that weighed 3.01!!
