Texas Outboard Rebuild in 7 points. Good because they rebuilt a motor for me and it was flawless.

I think I would probably look into getting a factory rebuild.

This thread is not about me getting my motor rebuilt and if I should get a factory reman ..... but rather about what REBUILD shops in the Texas market are good, efficient, cost effective and fast ........ or NOT.
Which ones don't do what they advertise

No need to be a dick. Im sure youre looking for a cheap way out so you can post for sale and let the Next guy deal with it but no need to be rude to someone offering their advice

Before you get your panties in a wad it would help of you let us know what motor and what extent is the damage. In some cases the damage is too much to rebuild and a factory remanufactured is more cost effective.

This dude has made like 3 threads on the issue.

He couldnt afford a reman since theyre 10k. And cant find someone to get it running good enough so he can stick some fool on Craigslist or some kid with daddys money

👍☹️ bang
Getting a blown motor fixed is one of the most exasperating things there is to do.
My issue is solved. I am just trying to find GOOD - REPUTABLE shops that others can use when they have the same issue
Have a nice day !!!

I'd know where I'd go if it was a non direct injection Mercury 2.5 motor.
Bobby but thats what he does really good.

Texas Outboard rebuilds is the only place that will get my business from now on. Very friendly and honest people and send photo updates of everything they do.

2 week turnaround time? This guy did it in two weeks himself with basic yard tools.

https://www.amazon.com/rebuilt-Outboard-...utboard+14+days

If I put mine in for 2 weeks I'd expect more than a motor rebuild.

...OK....
since I started this thread, let me add to it.
After much discussion, consternation, many telephone calls and internet searching .......
I went to Texas Outboard Rebuild in Tool (Cedar Creek area)
they were not the cheapest (might be in the long run) but they were:
1.) knowledgeable 2.) reasonable priced 3.) friendly 4.) delivered on schedule
5.) provided work updates with pictures by email 6.) went over the entire repair when I picked it up
7.) went over further break-in and how-to operate the engine for desired best results

let's hope this ends this chapter of BUYING a USED BOAT
..... that thread is next

Just remember yours is not the only motor being worked on. 2 weeks is a normal turn time.
