Been playing with a few new knots for floro and haven't found the break strength against speed of tying.
This one that Gary Swindle says he learned on the farm held up well in my garage testing, but tourney coming up and didn't want to break off a big momma on a bed with an untested knot
I'd rather hear Swindle talk about tying a fishing knot than hear Brad Pitt talk about his first night with Angelina Jolie. The man has a way with words.

I don’t have a curfew I have a driver’s license and my own car. The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant. And I have a bass boat. Life is great!
I learned it on a Mark Zona show, I used to break fluoro all the time with a palomer and with that knot I have not broken at the hook since using it. Now it just breaks everywhere’s else.
I too still use a palomer with mono, so much easier.
I used the farm knot for a while until I switched to the palomar. Learn how to tie it properly and it is a very small, very strong knot that I’ve never had a problem with. The farm knot gets a little bulky for some presentations.

Palomar. The only other knot I use is a double uni for tying two lines together. The key to the Palomar is once you pass the bait thru the loop, pull the knot part back out to where it doesn't cinch up with all that loop still hanging out. When you don't do that you have to pull the extra thru the knot and you get that curly line which is bad line after doing that. Also wet every knot

The Shaw Grigsby/Jimmy Houston knot is slightly different It’s a doubled pitzen
With the doubled pitzen, you wrap around down the doubled lines then up through the hole at the top
Here’s Grigsby tying it and then the double improved clinch
That’s a list for different then how I learned it. I’m not sure if the way I do it makes the line go in and out same side of loop but I will look next time I do it. I still can’t figure out how guys can work with them small loops
I still haven't found anything wrong with the uni-knot. Regular for most baits but for big swimbaits I tie the version where you go through the eye twice.
